Build React UI with Tailwind CSS and daisyUI

React UI is easy to start and hard to keep consistent

React makes component structure clear, but it doesn't solve the visual system for you. After the first few screens, the same question returns: how should every button, form field, alert, card, menu, and dialog look?

Many React UI libraries answer by shipping a full component API. That can help at first. Later, the cost appears in bundle size, provider setup, client-side behavior you didn't ask for, and components that look like every other SaaS dashboard on the web.

Customization often gets awkward too. You override theme objects, chase generated class names, or wrap library components until the wrapper becomes your real design system. At that point, the UI library saves less time than promised.

React + Tailwind CSS + daisyUI

Tailwind CSS gives React teams low-level styling control. daisyUI adds a component layer on top of it, using class names instead of React components.

• Keep React in charge: Use React state, props, hooks, and events for behavior. daisyUI only styles the markup.

• Avoid extra client code: daisyUI is CSS, so it doesn't add providers, hooks, effects, or component state to your bundle.

• Customize through tokens: Themes use CSS variables, which makes brand changes easier than editing every component.

• Write clearer JSX: btn, card, input, and alert say what the element is without hiding it behind another component API.

The result is a React UI library approach that stays close to HTML, Tailwind CSS, and your own component boundaries.

Install Tailwind CSS and daisyUI for React

React projects usually use Vite for a fresh setup. Install Tailwind CSS, @tailwindcss/vite, and daisyUI, then add @plugin "daisyui" to your CSS file after @import "tailwindcss".
